A religion question for Robroy, but will he give me a straigh

Sploom:
Ok,Robroy, but I wished you watched my video because it got to the heart of what the gospel message was about but anyway it wasnt to be.

I found a treasure in Christianity but no one seems intrested in hearing the gospel message of salvation, the good news

Why would I?
We’ve been here before,.I saw through all this stuff when it was being rammed down my neck (leave it  ) at confirmation classes as a kid.
So what is the point in me a confirmed realist…(in more ways than one.) listening to it all again.
What are you expecting a eureka moment when a comic style balloon suddenlly comes out of my gob reading…‘Wow Sploom was right after all’'?
Ain’t happening mate.

Sploom:
Carryfast.
I’m not saying anything,as a fundamentalist, everything I say must be backed up biblically.
Luke
12:47-59

47 “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.
48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
Luke 12.47-49 does seem to suggest the greater sinner gets more severe punishement. But your Mr average who just simply rejects Christ,he is still hellbound because,it’s not the sin itself that has the magnitude but because the sin is against an infinitley good God.

No infinitely good God that I believe in punishes Atheists for their non belief or agnostic belief.
What you describe sounds more like something expected in the Quran to me.
Bearing in mind that the Crusades weren’t directed against Atheists they were in defence of Christians against Islamic intolerance and violence.
While to my knowledge the Bible provides plenty of scope to be interpreted in numerous ways from your raving interpretation to something much more light hearted and good willed. On that note I’m quite happy having a few pints and a couple of single malt chasers with Atheists and Agnostics in the pub before and after Christmas Eve services.
It’s God’s job to sort us all out when we shuffle off this mortal Earth and only he knows the definition of the ‘beating’ we’ll all get for our sins. Its not for so called fundamentalists .My guess is Luke just means in the metaphorical sense along the lines of an admonishment delivered with a laugh. As opposed to what Hitler and Stalin among other disciples of Satan got.
As for taking the Lord’s name in vain I’d guess that anyone setting themselves up as being an agent regarding his judgement and the definition of the Bible more than meets that definition.
I’d guess you’d better prepare for being switched off with the rest of us who might not make the grade and get sent back into the Atheists’ line Which is what I’m guessing is as bad as a normal ‘beating’ gets and certainly not the line for Hell.

The nodding donkey.
This Bible verse suggests we wont have food or a stomach in Heaven. That means no digestive sysem either. There is no marriage in Heaven,no ■■■.
This Bible verse answers all your questiins
1 Corinthians 2:9
King James Version
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

You cant even speculate what Heaven will be like.Only it will be infinitley better that earth.Earth is like a black negative compared to a true colour photograph,Heaven

The hymn All things Bright And Beautiful says no.It’s clearly about our mortal Earth maybe you should try it sometime preferably Royal Oak version. Not about Heaven which is , hopefully, just a condensed spiritual version of God’s creation here but without many of the really nasty bits.
As I said I’ll miss the beer and fast cars.
While without the procreation you ain’t going to have that Beautiful Earth and the souls it contains.
What can you expect from a pro nuke, tree burning, CO2 hater.

Sorry but you sound more like the type of false prophet pushing a corrupted narrative closer to that of Islam if not Satan’s word.Like Christians are warned about.
Than the word of the compassionate forgiving entity who created Earth and everything around it.Who came down to Earth to give us guidance in the form of parables spoken and written that are then to be interpreted and perceived by us according to our own motives and personalities.Maybe that interpretation in itself is part of the test and trial for our judgement.

No confirmation indoctrination classes in my case.RE was considered one of the most boring periods in the daily grind to be avoided by getting home just like all the rest.Religion is something that you have to find and choose and decide for yourself.

The Bible is pretty clear about the fate of unbelievers

21:8
New International Version
8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the ■■■■■■■■ immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Its not my idea of fun!
I dont fancy getting a beating either.

It sounds harsh but the universe doesnt revolve around us,it’s ultimatley for God’s glory.I have friends who are non believers.I dont wish to see them cast into the lake of fire but that’s their fate.

How do you know what videos I have or havent watched? If there is a video link you want to share with me,I will watch,or at least for more than 30 seconds!

I can’t know for sure, I can only assume you’re telling the truth. Earlier in the thread you admitted that you didn’t watch clips posted by Robroy.

You are continually quoting from various manifestos, all written 2,000~6,000 years ago, in ancient language, no longer spoken. They have been translated, on very much a best guess basis, by different people, usually with a vested bias. These different people contradict each other. From these translations, it has been translated and interpreted multiple times, often with parts emphasised out of context, to modern languages. Talk about Chinese whispers!

Some years ago, my missus and I were watching a Dutch, comedy movie with English subtitles. The Dragon (Mrs SDU) was doubled up with laughter, I said to her that it was not that funny. Her reply, “The movie’s not funny, but the interpretation is hilarious.”
Two modern languages, still in use, have words and phrases with no direct interpretations, totally losing the meaning.

Your bible, is a translation and interpretation of a translation and interpretation of a translation and interpretation ad infinitum, from which you explain gaping holes with magic. You claim to believe science and preach to us that we should too, but then don’t believe the logical, sensible, intelligent science if it conflicts with your unbelievable book of magic.

But Robroy hasnt posted any videos that have made any meaningful contribution to the debate, thats probably why I might not have watched them.
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and it is the most read book of all time.It cant be stopped because God is all powerful and has a plan for His followers.
Because God is supernatural, you cant measure His abilities using science. For example,a magician makes a rabbit appear out of a hat.If you bring the rabbit to the vet,the vet might give you an estimate of the age of the rabbit. But really, the rabbit has only just been created.I dont believe magicians can make rabbits by the way but you get my drift.
One thing I realised throughout the course of this thread, the drivers are seeing things from a human petspective as if man is the centre of the universe and God and all the natural world, everything is there for the purpose of mankind. And it’s only natural for fallen sinners to look at things this way.
But here’s the thing.Creation is all for God and for the glory of God.God will be glorified in all our lives either through repentance and worship or through the eternal suffering of the damned.

Crikey Sploom! Do you ever read what you’ve typed before hitting the submit button?
The absolute arrogance, why are Robroy’s links and opinions any less meaningful than yours?
At least his are logical, unlike yours which rely on magic to connect unbelievable scenarios together.

I think we can take your ‘New International’ ( Satan’s ?) '‘version’ in the same light as you calling God’s green and blue Earth a ‘black negative’.

Loving ‘‘The Gospel According To Carryfast’’ here btw.

It’s a fascinating concept is this religion stuff, and the way it is interpreted.
These guys make up their own versions of the same thing, and either believe it or WANT to believe it for whatever reason,.then start arguing amongst themselves.
I just find it amusing, that otherwise civilised and educated people are still in 2023 taking absolute ancient jumbo jumbo.as if it is fact.

And it came to pass that Carryfast couldn’t remember what was taught in Sunday school, so he authoritatively made it all up.

And I find it amusing that educated people think the universe came from nothingness and life began by chance. If you research the subject, you find the odds staggering. If life began on it’s own, that’s hard enough but for a cell to replicate itself…
It’s like you building a machine that can make copies of itself, even more complex than the one before

A quick google search, odds of life forming by chance, one in 10 to the power of 40000.That’s 10 followed by 40000 zeros!
Get away! You’re having me on…

cyberpenance.wordpress.com/2018 … 5E41%2C000!

Odds of you winning the lottery 1 in 1.3 to the power of 7
Odds of you and your wife winning the lottery on the same day 1 in 1.3 to the power of 14
Odds of you ,your wife and son all picking the same 6 numbers on the same draw.one in 1.3 to the power of 21.
(All my crude calculations, but you get my drift)
How long will it take to get to one in ten to the power of 40000?

Robroy.
Maybe this is the eureka moment

Why on earth do you keep equating life to machines? They’re diametrically opposite.

People win lotteries every day. The odds of life starting by a scientific fluke are far greater than creation by a magician in the sky.
