A real professional [ROLLING EYES]

All this happened in the year 2000 half past midnight , yet the truck is 07 plate , so which one is time travelling ?

No one is defending the trucker but the fact is the car driver can clearly be seen escalating the truckers anger so this makes him well and truly involved in the unfolding events.

Yeh you are right, but as I said earlier the driver is (supposed to be) a professional, the car driver is not, that is what should differentiate the two, ie: driver should display said professionalism, he does not and displays that he is not fit to be let out on his own in charge of 44 tonnes.
I have been wound up hundreds of times with some dicks in cars but have never lost control to the point of risking ramming them up the arse ( maybe in as much as I would maybe like to on the odd occasion) and risk killing them ffs.

Agree, the trucker lost all his professionalism but we don’t know what initially caused the anger, not that its any justification to drive like that. The car driver could have just drove off into yonder rather than decide to antagonise the trucker. His actions just inflamed the situation.

The way they were both driving i was expecting them to jump out and start knocking lumps out of each other at the roundabout

Lorry driver was a ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  Within the first 10 seconds he had attempted an overtake on a roundabout that put him over the chevrons :open_mouth: I will normally stand up for lorry drivers - but he deserves to lose his licence…

They are both as bad as each other. The truck was too close while the car goaded him into running into the back of him. However, we don’t know what happened further up the road, the car driver could of cut the truck up or the truck driver could of pulled out on the car or whatever.

So dash cam not "calibrated " means video inadmissible as evidence?

Doubt it ,
just means that the person/s who were present when it was recorded are likely to be called to court also,
to answer questions how it was made and that the video evidence is factual for that occasion irrespective of the time/date stamp and that it has not been tampered with.

Conor:
Probably fed up of the Mondeo dawdling along at 30MPH in a 50 limit which could or could not have been done deliberately to wind the truck driver up. We have no idea what went on before this which is one reason why I tend to be a bit suspicious about edited footage.

I thought it was a Merc? Anyway, at the point the video starts they are just coming to the end of a 40mph limit (the video begins at the first roundabout on the A5 after the M69 at Hinckley, heading North, where the limit increases to 50). Clearly ā€œsomethingā€ has gone on prior to this, hence matey-boy in the truck giving it large and tearing up the ā€œwrongā€ lane on the approach to the roundabout. I’d guess that as they carried on along the 50mph section to the next roundabout, there are various hand signals etc going on - probably by both drivers - with the car driver ā€œinvitingā€ the truck to pull over. Hence the LH indicator on the truck and he starts to pull into the layby, along with much flashing of brake lights as the truck driver ā€œmonstersā€ all over the rear bumper of the car (and the car driver brake-tests him). Then the car driver decides not to pull into the layby, so matey-boy in the truck gets back onto his bumper. The car driver stops at the roundabout (even though there is no opposing traffic) and the truck doesn’t. .

I note that the truck is based locally (only about 3-4 miles further North along the A5) so would assume that the driver is familiar with the road and is quite likely to be heading back to base rather than rushing to make a timed delivery etc.

The whole incident is pretty inexcusable TBH - regardless of what ā€œprovocationā€ the car driver has contributed. If it came to it, the truck driver could be looking at the wrong end of a Dangerous Driving charge, as he appears to be deliberately using the size of his vehicle to endanger A N Other. The man’s a plank.

People keep saying the car stopped at the roundabout for no reason…how do we know there was not traffic on the roundabout doing as they normally do and not indicating?
Or there was a car to the right waiting to join the roundabout but didn’t because something was coming round to his rightā– ā– ?
The car stopping at the roundabout was not the cause of the accident, the HGV ramming it was.

You can’t defend the indefensible, and in this case the lorry drivers actions were indefensible. He should have just backed off and counted to ten imo. I imagine that this incident started back at the roundabout under the M69 and probably involved the car carving across the nose of the truck as the two lanes become one prior to the Shell(?) garage.

However, as I think Conor said you never get to see the unedited footage in these cases. I also think that it’s quite telling that car drivers are quite happy to engage in this sort of baiting with lorries, but you rarely (if ever) see them do it to fellow car drivers! Perhaps because a car is quite capable of following them home, onto their drive and then setting about them with a lump hammer!

^^ This!

All other arguments/theories are invalid, because it quite simply comes back to this…

I’m not for one second suggesting I’m whiter than white as I myself have done my fair share of road rage ranting in my ā€œyoufā€ but at the end of the day it all boils down to the maosters quote above…

Be the bigger man and chill the [zb] out!

bit of a muppet,too close,wet road,idiot

Can you imagine the up roar on here if that was a tipper driver!! :open_mouth:

I just wish it had been Stobarts, I would even have had a field day myself

Yet another one of them so called moron’s thats out on the roads, showing us his so called professional driving skills and abilities … Someone take his driving licence away, from the video he’s unfit to drive a car let alone a lorry…

ajt:
Very easy to point fingers at the trucker and say as a professional he shouldn’t react (which is correct he shouldn’t) but when someones pressing your buttons like the car driver clearly is, rational thinking can fly out of the window.

Trucker lost his cool, car driver got what he deserved. End of

Couldn’t of said it better myself,he asked for it ( car driver) and got it .

Are you having a laugh? I have come across numerous retards dressed in green that I wouldn’t let loose on a bike let alone an artic, or do you believe the corporate bull ā– ā– ā– ā–  that they are a cut above the rest of us :unamused: when in reality they are just another haulage co but with a higher opinion of themselves.
That’s me Stobart bashing over until next time…ahhhhhh I feel cleansed

To be fair, I’ve never seen a Stobart ā– ā– ā– ā–  driving like the one in the video.

Don’t get me wrong, Stobart mongs often do daft things and make amateurish mistakes, but I’ve never seen one aggressively pursuing a car before crashing into the back of it.

Your average Stobart ā– ā– ā– ā–  knows that if they so much as ā– ā– ā– ā–  whilst in uniform, a spotter will be on the phone and their P45 will be in the post before they smell it.
