I think the best thing to do is just let them get on with it, i would,nt be keen about a dog getting in the cab though,i thought that was only trailers and the outside of the trucks they had a sniff about, and i have only seen the dogs when coming back into uk or going through a border, i only ever had a problem once with a commisioner just one of these guys that was on a power trip because he had a young woman trainee, but most of them been ok.
Yeah anyone been to the VVC (Vosa Vice Club) at the bottom side of all major weighbridges?? I think when there busy taking there shoes off prior to valeting your interior, cooking you a slap up BBQ bun or 2 and making you a brew that you can quickly nip to the VVC for all your RELIEF needs… Bit of the same treatment you’d get if in Thailand etc… Infact im sure theyve set up a new website also, vosabrides.com
Why not talk to them and be polite, it comes down to Psychology. If you’re off with them and awkard they more likely to be awkard with you. I’ve always been polite with them and got a away with the odd minor infringment and been on my way again in reasonible time.
Getting pulled by VOSA is part of the job, like traffic jams, awkard security personal etc.

I am not looking to get into an argument, cause any trouble or even open a debate on here.
My take on State authority is that I will not cmmunicate with them in any way, no speech period. The Police usually get fed up with it and send you on your way. Now, my question is, when VOSA give me a pull and I adopt the same attitude, what are they going to do?
I really mean that I will not speak and will not let them have access to the inside of my truck.

lad at our company refused to give them entry to his cab and refused to co-operate - Got a £200 quid FPN for obstructing the examiner and they where down the yard to check his records within the month.
the boss was so chuffed, the lad is now looking for another job.

So in reality we do not have the right to remain silent, we are forced into communicating with these officials and that means(in legal speak) that you are being forced into entering into a contract Bloody great here aint it.
And before anyone pipes up, no I do not run bent, nor do I have any serious infringements on my card, I always do the job to the book, or as much as I know of the book…I am not perfect.
So absolute power it is then and we all know what absolute power does
Can this country become any more worse than what it is right now?? JUst what rights do we have left I wonder…I am begining to think none, zero, nada, not a one…

It’s not much different to what we’ve always had because when a copper reads you the caution it’s always been a case of you have the right to remain silent but it could harm your defence if you do.But at least with the coppers you can choose to remain silent until a defence solicitor is present.But we’ve never had the fifth amendment here like the yanks have.

If you are cautioned and you choose to remain silent and it goes to court, the court is allowed to draw a conclusion of a lack of innocence from your refusal to speak.
