If you have a continuous 4 hour break , you can reduce your daily to 8 hours once a week , must be a new one
you tell him to carry on and he will be Mr vosa’s best mate when they pull him, they will think all their Christmases have come together in the fines they will get off of him
are some driver that thick
You can do that, in the same way as you can drive for 15 hours a day. It’s mental, irresponsible, illegal and when you get caught expensive but you can

no, it WAS actually law until April 2007 when your three hour uninterrupted split daily rest came in! On the four hour split daily rest you could do 1 hr - 2 hr - 1 hr then have eight hours off! Which meant an 16 hour spread! So no it’s no a mmtm whatsoever!
That was the old way 4 & 8 up to a few years back then changed to 3 & 9.
so think he may be old school.

That woz old school rools, from the 29th September 1986 until 11th April 2007
Actually thinking back, you didn’t even need a four hour continuous rest as long as one of the periods was over 60 minutes, so you could have 1 hour, then 2 hours and then another hour, it worked well on the shorter ferry crossings, we used to joke about taking the 8 hours first and making it up later in the day
Funnily enough i had one today, a 60 quid fine for every buckle thats flapping on a curtainsider
The 1 I heard today was…
“There’s a minimum speed limit of 50mph on a motorway”
I explained that there isn’t, unless there’s a blue circle sign, a minimum speed limit on any uk road, but this guy was convinced. Even tried the old Cranes? Busses? Cars on space saver wheels (max 50mph), classic vehicles etc…
But he was still convinced

You could actually do it every day just as you can now, because you are not reducing a rest period, you are increasing them to 12 hours, just do not try to do a 15 hour spread
Mmtm all foreign drivers who fail to produce a Dcpc when it is law will be escorted to the nearest port and told to leave the UK.
