And to the rescue of my friend DAF95XF…Even a low wattage bulb produces light, which is the essence of life…these dim-witted coppers aren’t the essence of life, quite the opposite in fact…so calling him a bulb is wrong lol
■■■■■ or plantpot…dont know why just names we used to call em in my army days
Richard Cranium
Motorway cops don’t know jack.
As I’ve said before, my b-i-l is one such in Northumbria, and is the first to admit that he doesn’t have much of a clue when it comes to our game, so if in doubt, call VOSA out, is what he’ll usually do if he suspects something.
Ken.
a didgi tacho never reverts to rest it goes to other work (crossed hammers) so unless you have put it on rest (bed) you hav had no break

It reverts to rest when the ignition is turned off.

Some do and it is nothing to do with the make of the truck, it is how they are set up at installation.

Again there is more than one kind of bulb ya bulb, including dud ones.
The bulbs are out in force on this thread.
We have three different makes of truck and it is pot luck how the tacho is set up. Some default to other work, some to rest and some to POA. Some change from rest to another mode if you turn the ignition on whilst taking a break. You need a miners lamp to check on dull days otherwise you end up with infringements for not taking full break.
Surely if it was Jan the 1st then that is within the last 28 days therefor he/she could prosecute if there was a fault on your behalf with your card?? Deffo sounds like a jobsworth who wants you to think hes a cool dude by letting you off…
Forgot this one…was grizzling to one of our subbies the other night and it just popped out

That’s another favourite of mine, and in the way I sort of introduced Trumpet to these boards I did the same with stroker on another forum I use a lot.

Take it do dealers and get them to change it,
it should change back to other work
As coffee said earlier, it depends on the set up of the vehicle unit but should by rights default to work.
As for the digi-fob pro…
For enforcement purposes it should only be an indicator, you would really need different software or print outs to tell you what the real deal is. A few police forces are using them for enforcement, judge for yourself. This device will tell the person using it that the driver has exceeded 4.5 hours driving if his first break is 15 mins then second was 29, but say you were 2 hours in to your second 4.5 hour period then it would read out that you had driven 6 hours 31 mins or whatever.
The only way without access to more substantial software is to use the print outs, but more importantly know how to read them properly!!!

It doesn’t have to, either is legal.
