A little advice!

Recently you may remember I asked a question on this forum with regards to whether I would be able to work for an agency during my rest time away from work (obviously within my Driving Hours & EWTD etc) as I had previously asked my employer but had not received an answer for many weeks.

Thankfully many of the better members of this forum gave me good advice and on the back of this I waited until I had received the go-ahead from the boss before I looked into it any further.

The problem is that there are also another two knobheads registered on this site who work for the same company as me, albeit at a different location. One had worked out from various posts that I made who I was. The other then went and tried to run me in to the boss, thinking that I would have been stupid enough not to have told him my plans first.

Luckily my boss told me about the incident on Tuesday and he just made a joke of it, as he was already fully aware of what my intention/position was on this matter. He also told me exactly who had ran telling tales!! Luckily there was little damage done on this occasion!

I should point out that I have in the past year I worked quite closely with one of the individuals and thought we got on OK until this happened, I had always offered him help wherever I could etc. However, that person’s wagon has since been taken out of our plant. I now wonder if he thought he could get me sacked and in turn get my place at this plant? The problem is that to make the boss money where we are, you need to graft, maybe a concept he didn’t manage to grasp in enough time? The other lad is just a ■■■■ stirring little ■■■■■■ who has been known to run back and forward with tales on numerous occasions in the past!

I just wanted to highlight this, as any one else trying to get (possibly sensitive) advice from this community needs to make sure they cover their backsides first, if you know what I mean. You don’t know what ■■■■■■■ are lurking in the background.

Interesting - most are members or senior members - but I digress…

There will always be the possibility that someone you know or work with may be a member of the same site.

It is a chance anyone takes when they ask for specific information in regard to their personal life or work.

There will be those who know the member and wish the member well as well as those who will use it as an opportunity to do otherwise.

I don’t think there is any way around the problem other than not to ask the question or ask for specific advice.

I applaud you for not naming the ‘other member’ as you must be well hacked off - good for you in keeping your cool.

I must admit that I would have liked to have seen the ‘other members’ face when they told the boss and got ‘that look’…

Best to just Ignore them Mate, you’ll find that drivers have, and always will be, their own worst enemy.

At Least your Gaffer knows what there like now :sunglasses:

Reminds me of a light hearted joke / tale

Wagon Driver is found in Club Car Park with severe Stab Wound in his Chest, when the Police arrived at his home to notify his wife, they ask if there was anyone she could think of that would stab him in the Chest?

Her Reply was simple, You can rule out all his workmates, they can only stab folk in the back

Only been registerred a couple of months, as I didn’t previously know about this forum, however most people seem friendly and wish others well which is great.

I didn’t name them as they know who they are, and maybe this will make them realise why they have such a limited circle of friends at work.

I won’t forget this has happened though!

That’s the best bit, we’ve had an idea for months what the gaffer thinks

Maybe they would like to come on here and name themselves while apologisng for being a couple of backstabbing ■■■■■■ but then that probably would be too brave of them :exclamation:

Can’t see that happening lol!!

Is it just me that doesn’t understand that

Anyway I agree with what the others have said, you’re the one who’s shown a responsible attitude and they’re the ones who have shown a lack of integrity, good for you m8

To all those nasty, lowlife scum who feel the need to further their career’s by attempting to destroy anothers.

To really get someone in the ■■■■ you need a bit of smoke and what better smoke than spreading a rumour that they reek of alcohol when starting a shift ?

Be carefull though, such rumours bring about an awakening of the policy of random testing. They can’t just focus on your individual target you see.

Be sure that you don’t partake of a wee dram yourself before vomiting your spitefull lies though. There are many TM’s out there who can smell a bad apple amongst the fumes of 40 lorries starting up at 6am, and they will be only too happy to ■■■■■■ you to the gates.

No. Don’t.

It would be interesting. But causes complications (and costs), in a Legal sense.

And I’m a bugger for denying any ■■■■ blood sucking Lawyer of any additional income that can be avoided.

:open_mouth: Sounds like someone’s been stirring it up then!

What we need here is a group hug, a nice cup of tea and some choccy biscuits.

It’s nicer when we don’t fall out.
