A letter from Finland

A friend is posting me a letter from Finland tomorrow. He says that mail he sends to the UK usually takes two days to arrive.

Does anyone know what route this letter is likely to take? By air, directly by road, by road via a central hub in Germany or somewhere? Or what?

Stuff I used to send/ receive went airmail, lived there for 3 years.

But does that actually mean it goes by air? The area around Heathrow is chock-full of companies doing airfreight loads every night which never sees an aeroplane.

Can’t say as I wasn’t involved beyond the send/ receiving, but 2 days says it went in a plane, longer says not.

From what I’ve seen, surface mail to the UK goes to either Copenhagen or Gothenburg airports. Just before Christmas 2014 I parked my allocated lorry up near Arlanda airport and a colleague picked me up, he had a load of UK mail from Gothenburg, that we dropped off in Helsinki. With a major hangover after the party boat from Stockholm to Helsinki
