You cant say you were not warned, can you.   and from what I have heard about Iceland an hours wage £23 would buy you half a pint, so you could not afford to get ■■■■■■ anyway.

6 X 10 = 60 x 23 = £1,380 x 16 weeks = £22, 080 :open_mouth: :open_mouth: But what would be the deductions??, is it tax free?,

£22 grand for 4 months work aint a bad wage… 10 hour days too…get your head down…food and accommodation supplied…come home…ideal for a single guy…not sure but tax free from this country, dont know about over there and what rate of tax is…maybe ask at interview.

Ok…heres the information:

a meal is approx 2300kr
McDonalds…1500
a beer ( 0.5% )…1100
Imported beer ( 0.33% ) 1000
bottle wine…2300
Pkt Ciggies…1300

the average cost of living is lower in the UK. ( 40% lower )

If you stay for up to 183 days, you must pay tax in iceland, over 183 days…you pay worldwide tax ( whatever that is )
Wages : Up to 893.713 kr it is taxed at 22.5%…over 893.713 kr…taxed at 46.24 %…almost half…making the job around £12 grand after tax for 4 months. In my reckoning…your better off by around £500 to £1000…per month…
Current exchange rates as at 08-06-2018 is: 142.110 kr = £1.

Good luck everyone applying.

Blunder Man:
is it tax free?,

Why would it be, you are only out of the UK for 16 weeks.

Up to 183 days…you have to pay Icelandic tax…4 months at average 120 days more or less…is still within the remit…so tax has to be paid.
