don’t suppose the driver is on here, but if you are well done, what a save
i was clockwise, just pass the m11, happily overtaking another truck, the weather was lousy.
all of a sudden said anderson truck, that was probably 600 yds ahead of us had a massive moment. i don’t know what started it all off, but all of a sudden the trailer was at 90 degrees to the tractor unit across lanes 2, 3 and 4
quite impressed that the driver then somehow managed to get it all back after some big snaky moments and then carry on as if nothing happened.
luckily there was nothing at the side of the anderson truck when it all happened, as it would have been very messy.
sounds like a lucky break and that it was so early in the day
think time of day was a bonus. all happened very quickly, was abit bonkers at the time.
Might o been a load of hangin fhash. Slippy stuff. . .
I watched a driver have a big moment like that years ago , on the big hill southbound M40 at High Wycombe . Snaking really violently and I was sure he was going to jacknife it . I slowed to a crawl and can still remember shouting to myself " no,no,no,no,no " . How he saved it I’ll never know , but he carried on regardless
I’d have been on the H/S changing outta my ■■■■ pants if it were me !!!

i’d have been the same, but nope, he got it straight and just kept going
it was a big moment, i’d imagine the handful of trucks on the other side were thinking, sheeeet, it that coming over here!!!
so what was the cause …
…aqua planning empty trailer,perhaps
Making a coffee whilst tuggin one out probably
Either that or he saw a ridged coming up the outside and just tried to block him out for fun

, i did wonder at first. it was pretty crappy, but upto there, and after i didn’t really spot enough surface water to warrant it. could be wrong.
could be the coffee theory maybe
Semi trailer or lorry and drag?
If trailer connected after the drive axle i’m wondering if he got the caravan sways on.

the only reason i ask,is that i was out that night and it was ■■■■■■■ down…the tramlines had filled with water and i was having a whale of a time watching cars suddenly slam on when they realised they were being engulfed by the wave of water that was being thrown up from my wheels.
its funny...you get 3 types of driver in this scenario. 1.move into lane 3 and carry on 2.wait behind untill wave subsides 3.(my favorites)don
t use any forward vision at all, pull up along side then hold it there coz they don`t know what to do

unit and trailer. could have been the sways maybe. plus as commonrail says the tram lines were filling with water. none on this stretch at mo as its the new bit, but still a fair bit of surface water. not sure if he was empty or loaded?
i’m guessing he could have hanging on. i never pulled hanging meat myself, but can imagine if it starts to get a swing on, it could be a bit of a pig, (no pun intended) to get back.

They come in our place on a daily basis. Anyway got chatting to one yesterday and asked him about it and he claimed it was him on the M25 that night but said he couldnt remember much about it and it was all a blur so I’m thinking maybe it wasn’t him but we will never know.
