A few questions

1 - How do you check your driving time in the new shape Scania. I can’t find it and none of the other drivers at our place can either. I’m hoping theres a menu I’ve missed somewhere rather than Scania removing this ability as that would be dumb. Don’t like having to look up at tacho to check driving time.

2 - Why is the outside lane of the M5 north going past the M42 permanently coned off ?

2 - Why is the outside lane of the M5 north going past the M42 permanently coned off ?

Could be this from AA traffic website:

“One lane closed due to traffic management for the M5 Oldbury Viaduct roadworks on M5 Northbound at J4A M42. Linked to the major roadworks further up at the Oldbury Viaduct between J2 and J1.”

What make tachograph is it ?

edit: Sorry I missed the bit about not liking to look up at the tachograph, so the makes irrelevant.

Can`t help with the tacho sorry.
One theory I’ve heard about the m5, is to make a queue forcing people to use the m42?

Well that’s just bloody stupid. How can coning a lane off from so far away make any difference if it opens back up to 3 lanes after the M42

Can’t see that as the end of the queue is right by where the cones are. The M5 flows normally after the junction.

Yeah I can check the hours if need be but the old Scanias and pretty much every truck I’ve ever drove have allowed you to check your driving time using the dashboard computer. It appears Scania has removed this feature from the new truck. I hope I’m wrong.

It was easy to check the tacho whilst driving via the dashboard on the last Scania I drove.
Stick the wire on, turn small key, open head, remove card, analyse disc (using ridiculously expensive round piece of plastic analyser), re-insert card, close head & lock and depending on results of previously mentioned card analysis either remove wire and carry on or leave wire attached and carry on, only faster…
…Allegedly…

Well that’s odd. I’ve been through all those menus and never found it. Asked other drivers and they can’t find it either.

I’ll have another look when I’m back in

Because it queues so far back past that k1050 dodge if anyone ever spotted it before the trees blotted it out although it’s still there you belive the que is from j4 to the m6 and go round the m42 !
