Scenario 1 : Licence holder got c+e provisional in 1995 before the need to do cat c first, as the licence is still valid they can legally be on road with L plates but can they take test ■■? without first sitting test for cat c.
Scenario 2 : D2 form shows provisional entitlements for c c1 c1+e d d1, the c1+e option is there for people who have c1 acquired rights, but I know of a post 97 licence holder that ticked this box and got the provisional entitlement, does this mean they can sit the test without having sat c1 first ■■?
Scenario 1. NO. The driver can drive CE under training conditions but has to pass the CAT C before being able to take a CE test.
Scenario 2. NO. C1 has to be passed first. This covers the medical and theory. No idea why the C1E would be issued beforehand.
Hope that helps, Pete
Cheers Peter, Scenario 1 is an odd one because I know someone that had c+e provisional from 1991, last year they renewed licence and it still came back with c+e provisional, you would have thought this would have been changed for cat c provisional.
Who is gifted to know the inner workings of the DVLA?? Pete
If a licence holder has a C1 and a restricted C1E does the CE bypass the restriction?
yes
It shows like that on your licence so if and when your c+e expires and does not get renewed then you revert back to restricted c1+e , simples
