Ive been out the last 3 or 4 weeks on a tour with a big American Heavy metal band, we started by running up to Utrecht empty to load up Sunday morning, then double manned down to Lisbon Portugal (thanks to harry and Bear, thats the way we went ) arrived Tuesday, the band rehearsed Wednesday and Thursday, the gig (a Festival) was on Friday
As soon as our band finished their headline slot we were loaded and off, heading towards Ancona Italy for the Superfast crossing to Patras. Around 2 days later we arrived in Ancona and dropped our double drivers off (in a hotel for 4 days)as the concert venue was only 3.5hr drive from the port of Patras where we were landing and we didnt need to double man that!
The venue of the Greek festival
After that, back to Patras for the boat back to Italy, once on board, a brief stop at Igoumanitsa to pick up some more punters, then onwards to Italy
Pick up our double drivers and head towards the Mont Blanc tunnel,
next stop Wembley Stadium, with an overnight stop on the way.
Once we arrived at Wembley we dropped the double drivers off, after the gig Sunday, we headed to Ashford truck stop for the night arriving around 4.30am for a long lie-in, then we had around 4 days to get to Arhus in Denmark for the last part of our tour, 3 days later we went back to Utrecht to tip our gear off then ran empty back to the yard, sorry there arent a lot of pics, but had a problem with my digi- camera. These pics here were taken on phone camera.

I have a friend on the george micheal tour, says its the worst tour he has ever done, cutting down on local crew, long load ins. I get him on skype alot with his updates to a badly run tour. He’s on stage, so I hope the truckers are getting better treated.

Yep, saw them every gig i was on. Brilliant and very loud!
kindle530 Brilliant snaps ,once again.I see that Patras looks a a little more organized since I was there last. Great to see that old Trans Am is still going strong. Is the Guv’nor still into massive wine tasting sessions?
That configuration & DAF was the same as I had doing N.Africa. Very reliable but you don’t want to bump any kerbs in Tangiers with it.

it was a load of [z] the production couldnt run a â– â– â– â– â– â– in a brewery spent 13hrs on the russian/finnish border and another 12hrs on the russian/ukrain border and thats with armed escorts and interpreter/agent
Language edit. If it needs stars to get it past the auto censor that is the clue it isn’t allowed.

You got through the Finnish / Russian border in just 13 hours? Wow! There are queues of wagons tens of kilometres long sometimes. Sometimes you can get through in hours, sometimes it’s days.
I suppose you came via the E18? There are other places to cross further North (I used to use the one near Nuijamaa just south of Imatra).
Back towards the end of my trucking career I did a few tours for Stardes… but that’s another story…
good to see some pics Kindle, God bless the double drivers eh??!! You never know you may end up with me one day! Bit of a let down that the one i did with my brother on the Slayer tour was in a RHD Renault Premium!
