A few old Pickfords H.H. Photo's

Here are a few old photos my dad (Stodge Edwards) had from his time on Pickfords Heavy Haulage in Leicester. The load on the first one is a crusher made by Goodwins of Leicester (later to become Goodwin Barsby). The 3rd photo also shows more quarry plant being towed, but I’m not sure if this is manufactured by Goodwin Barsby or Parker Plant, another Leicester company.
Stodge is the fella on the left in photo 5 (no, not the policeman!)

Photo 1:- Scammell Pioneer TRMU/30 or 80 Ton 6x4 Heavy Haulage Ballast Road Locomotive,pulling a 4-wheeler heavy haulage drawbar trailer,on which appears to be a big metal press? Before this Scammell road locomotive was painted in Pickfords livery.

Photo 2:-I’m not sure what the impressive load is.Pickfords.

Photo 3:-Atkinson SBT946XA,Mk1 Panoramic-cabbed,semi-forward control,4x2 Heavy Haulage Ballast Road Locomotive,Pickfords.

Photo 4:-Diamond T 980 6x4 Heavy Haulage Ballast Road Locomotive,GLU 654,1941-1943 London registered.Picfords.

Photo 5:-Commer QX MkV TS3 4x2 Tractve Unit - I think it’s a tractive unit.Scammell bonneted 4x2 Heavy Haulage Ballast Road Locomotive.

I would agree that the wagon in the fifth picture is a Scammell as the fuel tank is square shape whereas the Atkinsons had round fuel tanks
