A few interesting pics for you

They’re copyrighted so I can’t post the actual pics here, I’ll have to link to them sorry.

Pic 1. This is the 9th Airbus A380 double-decker fuselage being transported from the factory to the Toulouse assembly plant in France. It looks like a Merc Actros Megaspace cab with an extra long pod fitted on the back of it ?

Pic 2. Another bit of it…

Pic 3. And another…

Pic 4. And some more…

Pic 5. This truck is inside the largest aircraft in the whole world - the Antonov AN225 Mriya!

Pic 6. This is believed to be loading. The aircraft left Kinloss for Prestwick airport later that day and then next day flew Prestwick to Algiers airport in Algeria.

Good read and pictures

Brilliant pics Rob :stuck_out_tongue:

I was in Nantes airport last week, next to Airbus Industries and they had an A380 on the ground. They are rather large  I cant wait to fly in one, full of screaming kids

The Antonov flies right over my house if it comes into EMA, the foundations shake and my pots rattle :stuck_out_tongue: Im not sure if it that model though

It’s the model below it that comes into EMA, the AN124 Ruslan!

Taking off from EMA.

Landing EMA.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Very interesting pic’s

Nice pictures, the factory in germany (stade) has to use this type if transport as well,to move the parts that are built for the new plane for onward journey ti toulouse,
as for the antov, it was used by DACHSER air freight to move a complete plant system in one go to CHINA,the report was first class,

Would that German factory be the one at Hamburg Finkenwerder  .

Interesting Pic’s Rob

It might be a Merc Titan, heavy hauler. Uses same basic components
as an Actros, cab, chassis etc. You just make out a fuel tank and a
radiator in the pod. Possibly the cooling pack for the torque convertor. Merc had one at Truckfest
in Edinburgh a couple of years ago for Cadzow

great pics

It’s a Titan Actros - there’s no real standard product as they are all custom built.

Johnsons, Cadzows and Rawcliffes all use them (amongst others)

now i know this is an old post but in pic 6 you see the truck in the rear of the plane, what was happening was the russian cargo plane was transporting the fleet of nimrods too have there new engines fitted at the factory, the truck you see has reversed in with one of the wings which is being lifted off the trailer by the planes internal overhead crane before they winched the main fusalage aboard
