Hi Dan.Now is the start of the difficult times, especially on the secondary roads. But hey, its’ only until April
I was reading today that the whole of skåne is in a panic because of the snow, many people still have summer tyres on Drive safe.Mike
so this is what the longest north-south european route, the E45 looks like in the southernmost parts, near Rome:
what a lovely place, sun is always shining etc
and this is what it looks like near the top, between Storuman and Sorsele in Sweden:
The road is in much better condition, than E14 this morning near the popular ski resort of Åre. Only a thick sheet of ice on the road and a good amount of rain was enough to warrant using 5 chains, didn’t even want to stop from 5mph
things didn’t get much better until reaching Västerbotten.
Oh i really miss my time on the northern routes! Now days im glad to get out of town,al local now days…
Hope to get atleast one trip up the mines this winter, but nothing yet has come up.
Danne
Hi Dan.If your up this way don’t forget to stop for koffee[unless i’m at the mine myself] .
At least we’re guaranteed a White Xmas. ,just had 30cms of snow.Mike
Hu Mike! I will defenetly stop for coffey
Yeah a friend of mine was on his way to Kiruna and he said it was rough up there, but call me crazy but i like it that way.
Down here it is just rain and rain…

Hi Dan.Just returned from a trip to Harstad[Norge] as a ‘‘help’’ driver with some Dutch guys with ‘‘tung dragers’’ for NATO.
It was snow and wind all the way.As usual the area round Riksgrensen was crap, the guys from Holland we’re not impressed but it was a bit of fun for me as i don’t work much through the Winter.Take care.Mike
Very mild here in Trondheim. Funny how the passage of time can change one’s perception of a place. I absolutely loved it here last year and have just done a trial day driving a Sisu on crane work in the local area. Weekend work and night shift jobs pay over Kr.400 an hour but my enthusiasm is less than zero. I’m miserable as ■■■■ and the locals don’t exactly get my vote for being happy go lucky themselves. I think it might be illegal to tell a joke North of Oslo. Anyone with an hiab licence fancy taking my place?
Hi duck. That’s a shame, maybe it’s time to move on allthough it could be the long Winter thats made everyone grumpy.I’ve just spent a week in Saarisälka in the North of Finland as a guide\chauffer for a Dutch guy on holiday. He was ecstatic doing all the '‘adventure’'things like dogsledding, ice fishing, reindeer sled, and snowmobiling.Still lots of snow.
Now the spring is almost upon us[not quite yet up here]there will soon be lots of work in the building sector all over.
Hi milodon! Was it you that i saw on “stäketleden” the road that conect the E4 and E18 on mid sunday? Thought i saw somebody wave
Danne
We run up to Jokkmok in Sweden, love seeing the photos the lads take. Keep saying one day I’ll get up there!
Get your name down for a trip,it’s well worth it.Jokkmokk is famous as a Sami [reindeer people] center and has a big ‘‘ethnic’’ market in the Winter.
By a coincidence i was Close to Jokkmokk on Saturday on a snowscooter trip across the fjäll and frozen lakes.
Now you really are making me jealous!
As i only live about 100kms from Jokkmokk you can always call in and borrow the scooter for a day trip,[make the truck break down].
I’m curious but do you transport the cars to Jokkmokk for the winter testing, otherwise i don’t see many foreign trucks up here unless it’s for ‘‘special transports’’,otherwise it’s only EE trucks as they are cheaper.
PM sent.

I did 4 local isch loads befor going down to Linköping and load a 60000kg machine before call it for the night.
Been planning of a new diary of the summer in Scandinavia for a while now, but my heart wasn’t really in it. Though about it for not too long and after two years of tramping it’s time for something different again. So tonight I’m parked up in the ski resort of Åre, Sweden, come monday I’ll unload in Tampere, Finland, go home and relax for a few days. And as of next monday I’ll be working in Bodø, Norway, for a construction company doing roofing in Nord-Norge. So this will be the last pic for a while
