A Decent Living Working for Agencys

Can a decent level of income be made working for agencys driving class 1 or is the work available not consistent enough to attain a monthly level of income I am not talking £600+ a week wages just enough to pay the bills and a couple of days off a week, seems to be a lot of work advertised via agencys or is it the same job thats been placed with diffrent agencys ,my location is the Northwest/Merseyside

The vast majority of the adverts you see are not for existing work but is their way of recruiting drivers. You can achieve what you’re looking for but one thing to bear in mind is come January you might be struggling for work until April.

I worked an agency from April 08 to April 09 and made a decent wage, some weeks was 6 days work some 4 but quite a lot of 5 days, but I was very flexible and if I missed a day two in the week I made myself available for the weekend.
I did work for a good agency and was not fussy with what I done but had a clean class 1 licence for over 20 yrs so that obviously helped the cause and lived local to most of my jobs.

Depends on the agency, and how well your face fits!

By that I don’t mean if you’re a good looker, but if the management take a shine to you, or if you are prepared to undertake all or any jobs they throw your way. (Or at least that’s very much the impression I’ve been led to believe is the case…)

Probably not at the minute. I’m on with a few agencies in your region and there ain’t much about. Seems that they all have the same jobs on offer…

Not one agency advertising in the jobs section this week - never seen that before at this time of year.
