A DAY'S WORK

I started work at 6am, hitched up my trailer and set off . i only had one drop that day but it still took 4 hours to do 10 miles… i managed to get under a really low bridge and got to my drop. they were waiting for me so it was quite a good tip. it only took 3 hours to get my load of potatoes off and get my docket signed … we all then went and had an hour for dinner … I then set off back and managed to do the return trip in 3 and a half hours because i was empty… when i got back in the yard i unhitched my trailer then thought to myself, “I’ll fuel her up ready for morning” …so i took her over to the stable and gave her a bale of hay and a bucket of oats…

Which end did you stick the pipe to refuel the old nag, did you pull the tacho out at end of shift?

Hope you didn’t do a manual entry!

Must be getting good mpg!

Sounds too much like horse work to me :unamused:

4hrs to do ten miles cant be right … Can it

Nay lad why the long face

Did you buy the horse from Steptoe and Son`s or Arthur Daley motors ltd?

Lazy git: I do hope that you gave that horse a nice rub down and a bucket of water as well before you settled down to cleaning the tack. A good hours graft before you could go home.

Not only that but you broke the WTD by working 7 hours without a break.

Why don’t you finish the story Truckertone…then you took it to Exeter races and I was daft enough to back it…the horse was knackered and finished last.
