A daft question about dcpc

I also have a psv licence, and its just occurred to me that I should have completed my dcpc training by September this year. so far I have done 4 x 7 hours training towards sept 2014 deadline for hgv, my question is does this count for both licences or has it got to be 2 separate 35 hours of training for each licence, or am I just being daft for asking. the reason I forgot about dcpc for psv is that I hav,nt driven a bus in about 20 odd years and don’t intend to anytime in the near future I only sat the test to complete the set of car, bike, truck and bus many many years ago.

No just one lot of 5 x 7 will do when you get your final seven hours of cpc completed it also counts towards your PSV

When did you do the first of those 7 hours because each 7 hours is only valid for 5 years from when it was done?

In other words - from the date of doing the first 7 hours of 35 to the date of doing the last 7 hours of 35 there must be no more than a 5 year gap for all to count as the 35 for a DQC - driver cpc card

As said when you’ve done the other seven hours DCPC training you can drive both types of vehicle … well you could if you wanted to anyway

Sorry, I misread the first post a bit

If you have acquired/grandfather rights for both PCV & LGV then at the moment your right to commercially drive PCVs is suspended until you complete the 35

To retain the right to commercially drive LGVs the last of the 35 must be completed by 09/09/2014

The licence and the dcpc are two separate issues so you still have a PCV licence but cannot use it to drive commercially until that last 7 are done

As others have stated already - the 35 counts for both LGV & PCV - just like the medical does

On completing the 35 by 09/09/2014 you will get a DQC expiry dated 09/09/2019 for both LGV & PCV so they become aligned

okay lads that’s answered my question. many thanks, I hope to have the last 7 hours done by the new year and that’s me sorted.
