A D R

Posted this on another thread yesterday;

ADR doesn’t seem to pay extra anymore,(except tankers) I’ve had it for about 8 years now, a few years back it could command an extra £2-3 an hour on basic rate, not any more, & I think its here to stay judging by the amount of people doing it in combination with their DCPC, not money well spent :frowning: don’t think I’ll be renewing mine next time, Hiab & Moffett don’t seem as badly affected yet, then again you do have to physically use these appliance’s, seems to be the best route in the future

It may increase your employability, but with a lack of experience you may struggle.

I was thinking of doing a Hiab course, same thing. I spend £300 then cant get a job because Ive no experience. Ive emailed Jewsons and a helpful fella said they`ll usually go for experience first.

What to do?? Don`t know!

I did my Hazchem Tanks a few years ago which, ironically, got me some agency work on milk tankers! Though at the normal rate. I never got a shilling extra for doing it and that was 10 years ago!

Bollox to `em.

I think ADR just makes you more employable and may open a few doors that would otherwise be closed. I don’t think it’s a ticket to better pay anymore.
