Sealand. Deeside ind estate

No, not Sealand, Deeside Ind Estate Wheel Nut!

AEC southall

Not AEC Southall Carl.

Some good suggestions there although I thought someone would have solved it by now - so here’s a clue…

This is the chap who lived in the Victorian House which can be seen next to the modern looking office block towards the bottom of the picture…

Sandbach?

OK I am now going North up to the Manchester Area  it looks as though there used to be a railway line running at the side of the estate alot of these closed down back in the 60’s. how warm am I now   not even close I bet.

OK 10/10 to Stupot for identifying Sandbach!

It is, of course, Foden’s Works at Elworth, Sandbach, the circuit which appears as an L shape in the top right-hand corner was the company test track.

The photo of the old gent is no less than the Foden company founder Edwin Foden (1841-1911), whose eldest son, William, followed his father’s footsteps in the company, whilst his second son Edwin Richard (ER), of course established ERF Ltd after deciding to favour the internal combustion engine as the modern way ahead whilst his family continued with the production of steam powered lorries for a short while longer before realising where the future lay.

Good try Colin, you were getting close to the area!

Thanks for your participation folks!
