There MUST be someone on here with stories to tell, pictures to show■■?
all i can add to griggs is when i worked in an office in felixstowe when i was 16 we used to reload truck out of kemsley mill for the netherlands or belgium, and at weekends i would go with some of the drivers to go out in the trucks and gain a bit of experience, i remember the rates were crap, but you could load 24/7. i do have some pictures, but sadly they are at my brothers and will need scanning, and he is on holiday
Found this pic,looks like an ex-Drakard F16

not got any pics but when I was a kid the old man used to buy straw from fields around Grigg’s Watchet yard - didn’t see any F16’s though - mostly FL10’s iirc
ref- griggs, i can remember the yard they had in soham on the left as you drove to soham. I think my uncle used to drive an old bedford artic for them many years ago, they also had some old d series fords as well.

Hiya ,
There’s a pic of Griggs F86 on Bubbs ‘Scrapbook memories’ thread page 116 if that helps
Not an ex driver but ex fitter from Soham (now with Turners) i have a number of pictures which i will try and post!
Heres my contribution to the AA Griggs thread.
Worked at monmouth depot until it shut, then moved to sudbrook depot until it shut! sorry no pics. It would be nice if some of the old boys were looking in.

I didnt work out of the Strood depot but when they advertised for the new depot in Kemsley, I went to Strood and had my driver test, which consisted of driving out of the yard up to the roundabout past and back! I
started when the new depot at Kemsley opened and remember a few of the lad from Strood moved over, the ones i remember were ‘the animal’, Roger(cant remember his surname) and his mate who was a huge fella but a right gent giant. We all had shiny white new FL10s mine being M257VEB.
The joys of it with one Mark Abbey from Watchet being the depot manager.
From memory we had 12 units and drivers and about the same in trailers, when I left there were 60 drivers and 350 trailers there. Happy days!
regards all AAG drivers. the two guys names were roger tyler and big frank mutter who is a gent. im ex kemsley night man made redundent 2007.all the best lads for 2011
my dad works with 2 ex watchet drivers and a ex launceston driver on M way & son of south molton devon . the 2 watchet drivers are called Alan and John Chapman who are brothers, the launceston driver is called Jim Roberts.
