Hi, loved looking at the pix brought back a lot of memories,I actually worked for Michael Street at Watchet for 7/8 years. I beleive the Scania 110 could have been new to Reed & Smith at either Watchet, who had four of them or Silverton/Collumpton as they had devon Regs. have a picture of one of them at watchet when new painted up in grey with the reed Warbler symbol on the door.

What a fine example of how to sheet and rope a load of reels,I bet that was like a Schooner in full sail on the M/way ! :open_mouth: Bewick.

Found this article where Griggs were used to test possible rollovers. Hardly a ■■■■■■■■ the reels but most arrived safely. Wonder if anyone knows which drivers were used?

I would suggest that you skip to the last paragraph of the report, rather then reading it all & you will be amazed at their findings…
