£846.00 for a trailer tyre!

Hombre:
Id rather deal with the CRS than Gendarmes to be honest - the two who pulled up behind me were very polite and helpful, even telling me not to bother with the triangle (in my hand, with flourescent storm jacket on too) as they had called the patrouille and would stay behind me until they arrived.

I think it’s like anywhere else, you get good and bad in every walk of life. The CRS have simply got a bad reputation, but it’s cool to see you encountered some humane ones!

BTW police presence at Bordeaux rocade and peages has hotted up of late, especially during the evenings/nights. Plenty of our night trunkers have been pulled over during the past weeks and normally they don’t bother our firm too much. Perhaps French police have finally realised that only way to reduce the horrific road accident stats is to get out and there on the roads rather than sit in McDonalds?

Anyway, back on topic . . .

Good Utube video, brilliant idea, and you dont even need a jack

Don’t laugh although I think they were…

Blew front N/S tyre on the way back from Portugal in 2007. Total cost for cordoning off the motorway and call-out and new tyre was 1785 Euros. Now even at todays rates that still almost £1600.00 for closing the motorway at 3 am in Bordeaux for an hour or two… was tres expensive but one had no choice. I think perhaps they knew that also but what to do?? C’est la vie…
