£550 gross per month

Just read an article in this months T+D (fleet focus) . It states clearly the monthly wage before nights out for 55-60 hours is £550! Remember tax and national insurance is to be deducted. I thought it was a misprint but this is stated twice

Obviously means per week though…

There’s no such thing as a monthly wage. A wage is payment done for work by the day, week, or by piecework. Payment made monthly is called “salary”, from the Latin “salarium”, meaning “salt”. Presumably it’s a typo and refers to a weekly wage.

I think the more common street version of that word is far more appropriate in this case :unamused:

Just read the advert it is a typo it should read £5500 per month, not bad wages but don’t expect many would want to get out of bed for such a lowly amount.
