A 406 North Circular avoid

I am hearing from others that due to the bridge works at Neasden the North Circular between Hanger Lane and Brent Cross has become an area to avoid with major (hour long) delays. Anywhere near peak times the whole surrounding area apparently is rammed as people try to find a way round. This is now becoming almost all day long at weekends due to shoppers.

Yeah, one of our lads had got Park Royal t’other day, i suggested he might do just as well carrying on round the M25 going in on the A40 (not peak time cos its right back to Uxbridge some mornings) and nipping up through the bottom of the industrial estate.

This is where the sat nav lads lose out, as the traffic gets ever worse you’ve got to learn your routes and how they typically fare at any given time of day, the days of ducking and diving about are returning.

Live traffic updates on the little telly thing pops, we call it a Sat-Nav? :open_mouth:

Oh yeah, i know all about traffic early warnings having been one of the original Trafficmaster users, also having been around for a good while i also know how to get around the jams via routes you young uns know nothing about and neither do your little electric toys… :sunglasses:

Trafficmaster? - Do you mean this? :open_mouth:

I am one of the “satnav lads” even though I generally do the same runs/drops each week and have reasonable alternative routes (and even alternatives to the alternatives) in my head for when things turn to custard. The great thing about my electric toy is that it not only identifies congestion/delays on my route, it quantifies those delays and also tells me if they are getting better, getting worse or remaining fairly stable, enabling me to make an informed decision as to whether to go for an alternative (and which alternative to choose) or just sit in the queue for a while.

…Alternatively, you can work perm nights and get out of the rat race outright.

It wasn’t particularly pleasant over 20 years ago when I was in there all the time

There is a lot more restrictions for trucks in London, aint much you can do with alternative routes in 2015 compared to 1994 when i had to go in there twice a week, thanks to barmey Boris.
