Due to a cyclist being hit by a truck.
A cyclist who was seriously injured in a major road crash in Devon has died.
The 58-year-old local man had been airlifted to Derriford Hospital after he was struck by a lorry on the A38 between Plymouth and Exeter.
Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway of the road near Lee Mill, at about 10:55 BST on Friday.
The lorry driver, a man aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, officers said.
Tailbacks stretching about five miles (8km) were reported near the scene of the crash and the road was closed for several hours.

A 44 tonner was stopped in a layby, for some reason a Discovery has drifted into the layby and gone smack into the back. Hard enough that the front seats are against the back doors of the wagon.
