A 36 Road closure for 5 weeks Bath

For five weeks from Monday to Thursday nights from 20.00 to 06.00, the road will be shut from the Viaduct traffic lights heading to Bath in both directions.
Brass Knocker hill will be shut.The work starts next week for boulder removal,fencing to prevent falling stones and cutting trees
If over 7 .5 ton, the diversion is 28 miles, via the A 350 to the A 4.
If under the weight limit, go via Hinton Charterhouse and Midford.

Updated to Monday to Friday night closures.
If over 7.5 ,tons, the diversion will be from Beckington services roundabout towards Trowbridge then past the old Nestle factory at Staverton to come out to the Batheaston bypass.
The official diversion will be via Westbury/Melksham to Chippenham on the A4 to BATH.
In an artic, do not risk the Hinton and Midford shortcut, narrow give way lanes in Hinton, and a long line of parked cars, or double parked causing chaos.
You then clash with the local buses.
Then there is the low arch bridge at Midford.

Nimbies buy houses by main roads then moan that any size vehicle wrecks their peace and quiet. It is like moving to the country side and moan about ■■■■■ crowing, poultry farm smells, church bells ringing and the farmer making a noise from the milking machine on.

The proposed work to start in March 2015 was postponed from last year as not to disrupt Christmas shoppers before the season of good will, at some point it needs to be done or cost more if they delay it, Westbury Will now be besieged with those nasty fume belching juggernauts, their three ton weight limit by Westbury train station will be abused by dyslexic drivers that can’t read or write and think it is ok to drive a 44 tonner over a 3 ton limit.
