Aire de Peche, parked up at 4pm,woke to cab moving,no wind, put hazard lights on,but should have put the Volvo assault alarm on(Loud siren with all the lights flashing.)This was about 10.30 pm,went to the fridge doors to see the padlock had gone, and some boxes had been cut open, luckily nothing taken.Must have disturbed them.Should have locked the culprits inside the trailer and called the Gendarmes out,a French driver said they patrol 24 hours in un-marked cars.Thats if i had caught them in the act that is.
next time you’re in spain toby, buy one of those fridge locks that join the two bars. they’re about 100euros but worth the money

All you need is one of these too,
2 cuts about 3’’ apart on one of the bars and the lock falls off like a tarts knickers
Much better to fit the security lock between the tube guide and the handle, so it will not slide up so easily.

Many years ago I used to subscribe to the theory that if you didn’t lock the trailer doors nobody would think you had anything worth nicking.
Boy was I wrong.
We now have these locks fitted in these hasps
They have never been breeched, but I did have one of the hasps damaged where someone had spent a lot of time with a bar trying to get into the trailer and once the lock was taken off I couldn’t get it back on until I got a new hasp

Now that looks like a serious bit of kit.

As we have to leave out trailers unattended for long periods we need something to keep the scrotums out, we tried the fridge locks, but they were easy to get past so we looked around for something better, I don’t know where we get these from, but they are great, the only problem we have had is keys breaking, but it is an easy fix and we carry spares in the trucks anyway.
For some reason they need to be lubricated more than your average lock
