£100 bill for for parking on an industrial est for 30mins

Hi guys I am hoping somebody can give me some advise…my boss called me in tonight to show me a parking charge that has come in for my truck for £100 reduced to £60 in paid promptly bill,

The parking company get your address from the DVLA…which seem out of order to me,

I parked for my 30 min break on Monday dinnertime last week,

It was on the Estuary Banks industrial est in Speke Liverpool…lot of truckers park there during the day…all the roads covered are private with full public access,

Anyway…they do have lots of sign up spelling it out but lots ignore them…it was the first time I parked there,

it is a private est but the roads do connect other public industrial estates to to local roads,

Any tips for me to get out of paying…my boss has not said I will need to pay but I suppose I will,

Just ignore it. Search other threads on here about the same thing.

By the sound of it you knew you were illegally parked so it might be difficult to get out of, just because lots of others park there it doesn’t make it legal does it.

It is not a fine, it is a speculative invoice and it DOES NOT need to be paid.

The only action they could theoretically take is a Small Claims Court action, and they WILL NOT do this because

1. They cannot prove that you agreed to enter into any contract with them, and

2. The amount they are claiming is not a reasonable pre-estimate of any loss they have incurred.

Whilst it seems like it normally goes away if you ignore it, Hamblion from Colchester lost a court battle with Ransomes Europark recently and IIRC it was vehicles briefly stopping outside premises rather than parking.
