tuesday nite took 9 hours off at york then drove to liverpool & was told my load wont be ready for a couple of hours,so i put tacho on break & had 4 hours 40 mins break, does that mean the 9 hours can be made into 13 hours break.
No but it does mean you can reduce to 9 on the following night (Wednesday in this case) without it counting as a reduced rest.

I did 3 days covering Charlie at the end of December and I presume I’ll still be doing holiday cover for them in the future. Been working for Andy Skelton on the spud job last week and probably most of this coming week. No idea what I’ll be doing after that.
How’s your new job going?

fine thanks paul i’m just on my 3 days off.
A daily split rest needs to be 12 hours only split twice 3+9 =12. Under the old regs anything over 1hr was considered as a long break and you could split your daily rest into 2 or 3 parts totalling 12 hrs such as 2+2+8=12 or 3+1+8=12 or 4+8=12 The last part of the split only had to be 8 hours so this actually meant you could have a 16 hour working day
