80's wagons still clinging on - Kos, Greece

Whilst on holiday in Kardamena, Kos a couple of years back ('03/04), my explorations lead me to discover these l’il beauties either at the resort of Kardamena, on the road from their to Kos Town, or at the port of Kos Town itself. Would love to get one of the Scania 1 series or the F89 back to our shores.

Appologies about the picture quality - they were takenby an over excited 20-somthing with too much sun, and a Kodak disposable camera! The MAN rigid was being rescued after coming over from Bodrum and dropping either its coolant or oil, by a 4x4 MAN tractor unit.

Regards, Chris.

I enjojed my holiday there last year.
Even went down to the local port and watching them load the ship.In true continental style of course

Thanks tonyb70,the sunny weather certainly stops the rot doesn’t it ,looking at your pictures I can feel the sun on my back (distant memory) thanks tonyb70

great pics, i did my first trip to greece this year, and its still full of oldish volvos and scanias, although they are more 2 and 3 series now, i loved every minute of it, the driving standard is terrible but the scenery is superb and the truckspotting just as good!!!

good pics, sights like that are regular all over Greece. If i had the money…

Brilliant,i went there around the same time as you,and remember seeing most of these trucks, the f12 rigid had lost some of its badges tho.
