Hi all, I’m thinking of joining Lynch’s and driving an eight legger. Are there any Lynch drivers out there? I wanna know what the crack is. I know it’s £11 per hour but it’s self employed through an umbrella company called guild. I need to bring home £500 a week and I wanna know if that’s possible. Seems like it’d be difficult as you’ll be driving to max time everyday, and unless you have opportunities to use POA then I can’t see how you’d get the hours in. Never been self employed and I don’t like the idea of no holiday/sick pay, however, I’ve always wanted to give 8 wheelers a go, I’m bored of driving flour tankers. Is it worth the risk?
Sounds like it may be paye umbrella to me . But if it is self employed no holidays etc . 11 pound an hour is not worth it imo. You will pay weekly for this payroll company so you will struggle to earn decent money. Pretty sure you won’t get anywhere near 500 take home !
If you go for it take a crash course in Polish Lithuania Romanian etc as that way you will be able to talk to your Co workers.
That money is low for tipper driving in the greater London area any one half decent is paying £120-140 a day for 10 hour days possibly a little more too.
Lynch were advertising for tipper drivers for there new depot Brentwood essex a few months back £120 a day dunno if it’s less the tax though
