770s willy waving

Good ■■■■■ fight Luke and Rob,
Anyway I would like to give one a try just to see what it like. Would you notice any difference from say a 620? Trouble is the euro 6 does take away lot of the usual able power which spoils it.

Wheel Nut:
From the 1250hp engines used in F1, they are bringing the engine size and power down whilst maintaining the speeds of the 90’s

So a V6 800hp engine is better than a Cosworth V8 or the later V10/V12 designs.

My own car is 1000cc, 3 cylinder and will do 118mph on the clock. its is only rated at 115bhp

I am not sure where it will end, but it certainly wont be simple mechanical engineering that a driver can repair whilst driving through the Taurus mountains.

Dont let everyone on here know you drive a ford focus.

All the old skool should turn the engines into food mixers like jeremy did.

■■■■■■■■ food processor. Chops onions suffice even leaves a bit of oil for frying.

Absolutely

Not a Ford at all at all, its like you calling a panel van a lorry!

Used to drive lorrys when the money was good. Swapped to a panel van as it was better cash less hours etc. Might go back to lorrys one day when im older. Maybe mid 40’s. Will see whag the wages look like then. Can do moat of the lorry side of things anyway so no too fussed if it does or doesnt hapoen. Digicard out

Nice for those that can afford to buy one ,even better for those that can afford to run / repair one ,if I had double the horsepower it’s still more than mine is
But then again I think I paid for my lorry in the first month and made profit as well

You come on here and post sound, commonsense. How dare you, that isn’t the way,you should know better.

there was that eccentric bloke from nr Redditch that bought & sold ex airforce equipment he had a Kenworth with a ■■■■■■■ 19 litre Kta fitted that appeals more to me than the Scania

It’s about…

Sales, image and prestige innit.

Why not? If they can increase the power without giving away too much economy, reliability and operating costs, what’s not like?

Here goes Dan, about £3k shipping. ebay.com.au/itm/Kenworth-k1 … SwBXxfJ8tI

Looks a bit tall :unamused: ,12 ft bridge at bottom of village

They’re some engineering firm tbh, another 6% fuel savings with this new engine range, following on from the 6% savings at the nextgen launch, 6-10% on the change to euro6 from euro5… honestly these big V bombers must be doing 25mpg by now

Get Eddie’s to do a delivery, bridge sorted

I still reckon they’ll sell plenty to Southern Europe, Italy for example where there are really long motorway climbs and time is money. We’ll also see them pulling boxes out of Antwerp R’dam Fex etc, no money in transport eh?

No matter what anyones opinion is of it, if you’re pulling 40T up a hill and youre down to 31mph and a 770S passes you like youre parked up then you’d want to swap places with him!

Things move on with time don’t they? I remember (yawn) when having a 310 DAF was the dogs danglies , I then moved to a 480 Turbostar which everyone said was grossly overpowered. Yer typical fleet motor now ranges from 420 to 500hp, who’s to say that in 10 years 770 won’t be the norm? Would I like one? ■■■■ right I would. Do I need one? Not really, but I drive a car capable of 150 odd mph which could well be considered overkill, but bloody good fun nonetheless.

Edit to add; old age kicking in, was the Turbostar a 420 or a 480?

Just Wiki’d this out of boredom seems there were 380,420&480, never ever even sat in one but they seem light years ahead of their time just reading about them. I do recall being on a factory weighbridge somewhere near Bolzano and one came in loaded with apples for pulping at almost 70 Tonne, think that was perfectly normal there at the time.

Thanks for that. I remember the number (horsepower) being on the door just under the window and was sure it was 480, but doubt was creeping in. I was more in love with the louvres on the back windows and the electric wipers on the mirrors! Obviously being Italian they stopped working after a month!
