Heres something, one of our mob came into the warehouse the other day while I was being unloaded all huffing and puffing. He’d had an argument with the TM over having another driver sent out to collect him on Saturday because he run out of time on the Friday. Heres the kicker, he did a Sunday run out to a distance drop so by putting in his card to drive back the two hours of so would of mean’t he’d have worked for 7 days that week. According to the TM you can work 7 days, the driver says you can’t. Who’s right?
If its consecutive days then no you can’t.
Why didn’t the driver in question refuse to be collected and be weekend ended X amount of miles from your base, insist on a 60 hour continous break and a further three nights out money for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and two days pay at time and half for babysitting the motor and being away from home then continue Monday?
If the gaffer wears this, well he’s sent a mark so that if it ever happens again he has got to pay it!
Work it out at £25 night out is £75. Two days pay at time and half at let’s say £180 a day so there’s £360 minus tax and insurance works out around £275 plus £75 night out is £350. Not a fortune but put parking on top for another three nights and that’s there is another lets say £66 parking on the services. Over £500 for pushing a driver to a full shift on a sixth day. Now don’t you think that’s a bit cheaper than a DVSA fine or imprisonment? So in future the gaffer will get you back at a decent time. On top of all that, the driver in question no doubt has maxed the hours out all week, including Friday, so should be the top earner for that week.
And no, you can’t do seven days.

Why? as long a you don’t go over 144 hours from when you start on Sunday your fine, or start Sunday at 1700 finish Saturday at 1700 still time for 24 break

Why 60 hours break and not 24? If your asking for money for all weekend at time and half that could be classed a work
It is possible. But unlikely.
You would need exact times to be able to answer properly. Harry monk did a great post on this recently.
If he started on a Sunday after a weekly rest then he must start his next weekly rest no later than 6 consecutive 24 hour periods (144 hours) later.
Example - Start 15:00 Sunday, must start next weekly rest by no later than 15:00 Saturday. If you look at it in calendar days this is 7 calendar days that he has worked on - but only 6 x 24 hour periods.
What type of weekly rest he would need and when he could next start work again would depend on his weekly rest patterns previously but it is possible to start Sunday 15:00 after a full 45 hour regular weekly rest and work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday finishing by 15:00 - Back in for 15:00 Sunday and work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday finishing by 15:00. That means he has worked every single calendar day for the last 14 days but of course he had a 24 hour rest between 15:00 Saturday and starting again 15:00 Sunday.
From the information given - your TM seems to know what he’s talking about. However - we don’t have enough information to know whether or not a driver needed sending out to rescue him

It is possible to do some work on seven consecutive days as long as you don’t go over 144 hours between weekly rest periods.
Having said that being collected on the Saturday made no legal difference anyway, legally travelling back from the vehicle cannot be counted as rest so he would be working regardless of whether he drove or got a lift.
The regulations do not mention DAYS but work on HOURS so this issue should never occur
Its when someone like your TM decide to put their own terminology on the regs that things get murky
