7 day diary

the first three days are spent collecting insurance write offs from the south east , heading off jcn 11 of the 25 one morning i came up to this nasty crash

this sprinter came into one of the yards as well

day 1
after a full day collecting cars i work mt way down to pompey for the night boat to caen .
day 2
i get off the boat first thing to a cloudy day but warm enough and set off for the first car , its only 120 km or so , once at caen i head up the a13 towards paris and come off at the a28 split but get onto d roads for the last 10 km or so , its a village called

its an audi a6 AND it still drives

the garage was right opposite the village monument , to comemerate the second world war

onto the 28 and straight down to alencon then off to fresney sur sarthe to a garage ive done before , this one is a citreon with minor frontal damage but yet again it drives ( i could get used to this )

once on and back to the 28 i nip down to le mans and start the long slog to rennes and onwards on the n12 to near roscoff , i park 40 km or so away .
day 3
half hour or so after leaving im in the village called pleyber christ to load a ford ranger that drives as wel

im now heading back accross the 12 for rennes and le mans again

30 km past rennes i get a phone call to load a car thats just come up in st lo , a quick u turn , back to rennes and up the 84 im soon there

a fiesta with minor front again and again it drives , this is unheard of , but im not complaining

over to caen then up the 13 again but this time off on the 29

the river seine is looking murky

followed by the canal du le havre

tonights place to stay is near amiens
day 4
up early and straight accross the 29 and onto the a26 for reims , troyes and chaumont , once onto the 31 i come off on the first exit for a village called

another driver , this one another mg zt . a few weeks ago i had never heard of one , now ive loaded 2 in 2 trips , it goes like that sometimes
that roof box has gotta come off

another monument , this one the first world war

once onto the 31 heading south i bin it in the first services for the weekend
day 6
a pretty clear run down to chalon sud and i head into the countryside for 80 km

i turn up at a b and b in the middle of nowhere to load a caravan that has had a puncture , the trouble with caravans when they have blow outs the tyre normally goes up through the floor .
this was a nightmare to load , the wheelbase is wider than the trailer so after nearly 5 hours loading with all sorts including pulling up the ramps on trolley jacks the wheels are off and its sat on its axle and well strapped down no problem , im now running at a tad over 20 metres , it was fun getting back to the motorway

back on the autoroute i get as far as troyes . im travelling at 90 km with this ■■■■ behind me

day 7
a five hour drive up to calais and a few hour wait for a boat im back over and heading for the yard .any idea what this car was that passed me

good read…is it a MGA???or a bulldog

That classic reminds MG NA or Midget, but those had front axle set a bit more forward with a shield… I’d guess a Riley…

Otherwise, nice report. And makes me wondering how the company can make money on picking broken cars

Jeez even the firemen are crashing them now.

Did you drop off any business cards? Err need any motors moving?

mad monk:
any idea what this car was that passed me

Austin Seven Nippy.

Thanks a very nice read with as all ways excellent photos, ta very much,

Nice diary and pics Mickey

Thats the thing i like about France how clean all the little towns are you never
see loads of litter like over here ! :frowning: Mind you they do seem to have a problem
with grafitti.

The caravan looked a right bugger to load!

Yes macplaxton is right ,its an Austin Seven type 65 Nippy,by the way it should not have an exterior door handle. Nice photo of Plerin Port from the big bridge at St Brieuc,

nice read and pictures as usual mad monk, im going to pop some pictures up in the main forum from the last couple of weeks
