Hi , can a 7.5t lorry be hired and used by someone who doesn’t have a driver cpc or driver tacho card, this would be to move house , and is unpaid and not for business use. thanks.

No o licence required for personal use no weight limit
No dcpc for personal use, no weight limit
No tacho card required as personal use upto a max gross of 7.5t is exempt from the EU and GB domestic regs, so you can treat it like a van. It’s recommended to set the tacho to out of scope, but you don’t have to.
You may struggle to hire one without an o licence though, although I know Salford van hire do hire them without for personal use
