so I passed my driving test april 1993 I then drove 7.5t on grandfather rights until 2005 when I was diagnosed with type1 diabetes. my licence was then revoked allowing me only to drive up to 3.5t sprinters etc.
I am now in the final stages of reapplying for my 7.5t and provisional entitlement to learn to drive class2 class1.
I have done my eyetest, medical, and d4 form and doc has so far gave me the go ahead and said everythings fine as well as hes concerned.
now my question is will I get my 7.5t entitlement back straight away? and the main question is what will I have to do as regarding this driver cpc thing ■■
im having to jump through so many hoops but im very determined to sort this.
there has been report that as you have not done any cpc hour before you can do modules 2 and 4 and get your card, but from what I have seen posted not many if any training companies are in the loop on this, have a look at this
so im guessing I will have to do this cpc thingy?? if so does anyone know anywhere around hucknall/Nottingham/Mansfield area that do this and what is the cost of the course?
You can choose to do 35 hours periodic training or modules 2 and 4, it’s your choice.
Modules 2 and 4 will be cheaper at less than £200 but it means taking two tests which can be failed, the 35 hour periodic training will cost between £300 and £400 but at it’s most basic is just a matter of sitting in a classroom for 35 hours.
If you’re ready to do cat C training you may be able to get most of the 35 hours periodic training with the cat C training.

bloody hell!! I don’t mind the sitting in a classroom bit if that’s what it entails but why is there so many hoops to jump through no wonder theres a shortage!!!
To day a new entrant to our glorious profession has to be in a position to risk £3,000 to maybe obtain a vocational license, not a job just a license.I think that it would be easier to become a social worker or swimming instructor and be in a position to earn more money.

I had to outlay about 1700 to get to Cat C. Wouldn’t have bothered if loads of the old boys hadn’t left the industry due to the CPC…
