Thats interesting Malc, there is a lot of 7.5 t work round here to be fair, but it’s mainly the mega drop type, or mauling on home delivery, which I wouldnt mind if I was fit enough!
I’m now on my second recovery company job & both employ recovery drivers with out HGV’s as they have 7.5 tonners for car only work & we all drive them, I’v also done some 7.5 work on skip, for a builder & delivering building materials.
Have you conciderd taxi work ?, it’s much better money than HGV driving & you still get out & about on the airport runs, as a taxi driver I was earning about 60p per mile after exspenses two years ago,
That recovery lark sounds OK Dax, when I say basic on the spanners, I mean I can do general stuff, ive relined brakes a motor, changed springs, changed a turbo, fixed air leaks & valves and stuff. But that was on simple motors years ago as well. But Im up for it so will be looking round if I can get the all clear. Also, ive thought about geting some work for our berlingo, it carries as much as the van does! Cheers for the suggestions!
