When pound land used to have a shop in Stamford work kept sending it in a 40ft,shop used to be in the High Street by the Nat West trying to turn round was crap at 4pm on a Sunday.
Got grief everytime I went used to go over a little bridge right then left into the high street if I remember correctly used to hate it every time and all for 1 pallet lol.

Don’t worry , it happens to the best of us , Youll not hear anything , I’ve been on bus only route notts , 18t Leeds , tram line Blackpool ( car ,zb high kerbs to get off ) , weak bridge hull, if I’ve not done it nobody has , it’s just part and parcel ofbthe job .
Only one that bothered me was ripping up some zb posh garden when I took wrong turn ,luckily no one was about , never heard anymore
N.b bit of advice from driver who’s been there done it , if it looks dodgy , whip you number plate off before you go through limitI only know of two dozy… What weight was you?!
Lot of years ago , sure it was off 1033 , on way upto Driffield (sure it was on left as you go up ) , I’m sure it was 7.5t ( may of been 3 t just can’t remember ) , I was 18t , followed diversion as others did and took us over bridge ( I wasn’t the only one ).
N. B the road has Helsinki, Oslo, is it gala bingo on left so far up , that’s the 1033 I’m on about .
Was doing multi drop round hull area at time
Sounds like the 3t bridge, surprised the diversions took you over that though, bit risky
Is it so hard for people to use road atlas, pen and paper. Check map, route and restrictions and write down your own direction, it takes 5-10 minutes. Im amazed how people in Europe rely solely on sat nav.

You would get grief if you went over the bridge every time as you were breaking the law. The best truck route off the A1 is on Tinwell Rd. Although a lot of drivers will be put off by the low bridge signs, but that bridge is on the 6121 after Ketton in the opposite direction to Stamford.
The BP garage on the other hand would be better accessed via the 606 then Casterton rd (accessible from A1 northbound and southbound) or Casterton rd off the A1 (only accessible from A1 southbound) as it’d then be on your left on Casterton rd just before the crossroads (a6121)

My planner tod me when he was tramping (!im not convinced he has a licence) he would start at 4 am and have the wheels turning at 4 am , I’ve known drivers cab phones ringing before there boots have reached the bottom step asking why they’ve stopped for a un- planned break ( needed a ■■■■ ) etc etc .
if I had 5/10 mins to spare I’d have my feet up not my nose in a map , it’s push ,push ,push
