I spotted this on the Europol website.
It’s hard to believe this sort of theft is possible but if it is through Eurorpol it must be true.
Has anyone here experienced this.
68 arrested for €10 million ‘fast and furious’ – style heists on moving lorries
The arrested individuals, who are originally from Romania, are suspected of carrying out thefts from moving lorries, even as the drivers continued to drive – obvious to the crimes – at high speed on motorways.
Executing such thefts requires a high degree of sophistication. One car would start to drive slowly in front of the lorry while two other cars held up the other traffic. A fourth car would drive up close behind the lorry. One of the criminals would climb out of the car’s sunroof onto the bonnet and break open the lock on the lorry with an angle grinder. The valuable cargo would then either be transferred to their vehicle, or thrown on the side of the road to be picked up later. The driver of the lorry and other road-users were often completely unaware of what was going on.

Its largely to help the box jockeys stay awake, but the effect on an EE balancing on his mates bonnet can not be underestimated.

You’d struggle to get Industrial Light and Magic to pull a scene like the one described by OP off here…
The easier way to do it is just get the truck to stop, and threaten violence unless he gives up his load freely…
Now we get told by company to “not resist, and hand it over” it threatened…
Anyone on here ever managed to not be prosecuted/investigated for being part OF said heist IF no resistance was put up, and Trucker then returns to base sans-cargo from apparently “collaborating” with the heist gang?

Does that mean one is now making a conscious decision to actually kill someone by acting thus?

Unless you slam the brakes on, for no reason, theres nothing they can pin on you.
Best thing to do, is easing of on the throttle, than accelerating (causing the little bucket behind to slow down/brake, causing his mate to go inspect the underside of his car…), or a little wiggle of the steering wheel.
Just a little. If, and it’s a big if, the plod trace you, you simply say you were unaware of anything.

There’s a few things that have kept me from a good night’s sleep over the years. Finances, the ill health of a loved one, parking up in a lay by along the A1.
The well being of a scumbag has never troubled me yet…
I guess I’m the kind of guy who likes to think “he hasn’t got one of the two bullets in his gun” when lining up as part of the firing squad of 5+ shooters…
That gives me something in common with a certain Prince in that regard…
I’ll only act on a decision that takes a life IF there’s the instant “saving of at least one other life” to be had from such a irreversible course of personal action.
Of course, if there was some bandit coming around the side of my moving wagon with a knife in his teeth, then the bridge wall coming up on his side will suffice a subtle steering action into it, to clear it by about 4 inches, enough to get rid of stowaway, but not enough to snap off my wing mirrors…
If it is one’s own life that stands to “instantly be saved” - it’s no contest, and takes a fraction of the second to make the decision that is fatal for said perp, of course…
No smiles or jokes, as like the military would teach a recruit “If you try to think before you can act, you might find a knife in your ribs before you come to the quick split-second decision that would have saved your life instead of the assailant’s - had you made it.”
