I was in a bit of a smash today. My girlfriend had her new company car delivered last week,so today we had to take her old one back. Claire drove the new one and I followed in the old one over to Speke. We then set off back home to Huddersfield down the 62. We passed a Nissan almera on our way and commented to each other about how slow he was going (he was in the middle lane) and how far over the white lines towards the third lane he was. 5 mins further on we got to the 50 mph average cameras so cruise control on and all is well. All of a sudden BANG! The idiot in the almera has driven between my offside and the concrete crash barrier, sparks and plastic flying everywhere,im fighting with the wheel trying to stop us spinning out into the traffic,he careered on down the outside lane smacking another 2 cars out of the way. That was the last I saw of that car as I was then concentrating on getting us of the carriageway and stopping. (thank you to the downtowns driver who parked round us to protect us). The Feds rang a couple of hours ago to check we were ok and to give us some details, apparentley there were 10 cars involved and an air ambulance was called and some poor old lady had to be cut out of the back seat of her car. The driver of the almera was in a diabetic coma and the dead weight of his foot had wedged the throttle down. There by the grace of god go I.
So it was your fault that i spent all afternoon keeping my twitter followers updated about the traffic problems up there, eh?? Seriously though, glad your all ok
Bloody 'ell I saw this as it had just happened as plod were not there yet. The car & driver on the banking looked in a bad way, glad all okay anyway.
