A friend is wanting to build a model of a 60’s wagon and drag, the trailer will be an ‘A’ frame. However, in order to get the dimensions correct, he needs to know the maximum permissible length of a wagon and drag from that period. Can anyone supply the information or point me in the correct direction please?
Nick.
Have a search around Chris Hodges site, there are loads of old photos with legalese bits
You sir are a star, may thanks. Should you wish, you can follow the build link: 24thscalemodeltruckforum.co. … 47.new#new

I knew there was something like that around, brilliant information.
The only one I was 100% certain of was the rigid limit of 36’ 1’’ as we built caravan transporters and had to get them within the max length and under 3 ton as well. They went to the weighbridge with no tools, spare wheel, winch cables or ramps, and when measured we even removed the 50mm ball hitch.
It’s out of the ‘Companion to British Road Haulage History’ a really interesting and usefull book.
