6 Hour Induction

Yep, 6 whole hours of form filling, answering questions about drivers hours, safe loading of vehicles etc. I’ve never had an induction like it…anyone had similar?

Did you pass…

Or fail?

That would have been ironic if I’d messed it up, but fortunately I passed

When I worked for grundons I had to have 3 inductions in different locations to learn about parts of the company I will never see or have anything to do with all lasting a day each. It was nice being paid to sit there but the PowerPoint presentations nearly killed me.

Had an 8 hour induction when I first started for breaks. All the usual health an safety stuff. How to loads an unload, safe handling, use of fridge an how to print out temperature tickets. Finished off with a driving assessment.
We spent most the 8 hours sat in the canteen as the actual work only took 2 hours. All paid of course [emoji16]

Did you or didnt you get paid, if you did what you complaining about,if you didnt then why go through it unless your desperate for the job.
When I was doing inductions whilst working, it involved everything, appearance, safety footwear, licence check, all associated driving matters,IF all that was OK then it was Depot/ warehouse procedures whilst on a Depot / Warehouse walkabout,Company T&Cs, Transport Dept T&Cs tea break in between all that
Soon passes a few hours especially if its done properly, and not by some condescending know all,who bores you to death, and only does the job because he`s Senior brown noser.

Try going through the P&O one for Scunny Rod Mill. Only 10 minutes long with a PowerPoint presentation with basic H&S questions, but full of stupid faceless animated characters. More like Key Stage 2 at primary school than a serious presentation!

Also, Scunny have their own version of the P&O driver ID card for some reason.

8hrs at walkers (paid) when it was inhouse
