5 over 7 shift pattern

any one know how this works examples etc

You work 5 days a week, then have two days off. This equals 7 days so your days off are always the same days…

yes you work 5 days then get 2 days off !!!

sorry meant 5 over 7 shift its for a dairy job

I think it’s what has been said you will work 5 days and have 2 off, they might not be 2 together but to me any 5 from 7 means just that
or am i missing something ?

Over 2 weeks you will work 10 days out of 14 with a max of 6 days in a row and at least 2 of the 4 days off together

That’s a 5 from 7 example over a 4 week. You actually work 5 days from 7 but you don’t get every weekend off.
It really depends on the rota.

cheers everyone understand now looks ok to me im on my way to westbury dairy i believe as mine is closing in essex so im gonna be a wiltshire bum ,been in essex since born 52 years . pastures new well sort of as i have a lady in corsham so im there quite a bit :blush: :blush:

Doesn’t the last week in the example ends up with 4 days off out of 7?

In total it is 18 on 10 off, whereas any 5 of 7 (or 5 on 2 off) has 20 on and 8 off over 4 weeks.

Thats good to know, i had an idea that some contracts, eg Morrisons any 5 from 7 you could end up some weeks with your 2 rest days not consecutive.
