Hi Mark,
Don’t tease me, could just get her on the drive if I re-arrange the Land Rovers & the caravan! Looking at the picture again though, is she the wagon that used to be run by the Scottish Owner Driver Graham Cordiner? I got an old Trucking mag up in the loft (along with about 5000 others, good job the dark-side can’t get uo there!), if I remember right he had a different kind of paint job with a Zebra on a Zebra crossing or something like that! Anyone else remember it, or maybe I’m wrong?
Regards Chris
Hi Chris,
Seriously, it is for sale in the buy/sell pages of the roadtranspot.com webpages! Put in “scania 143” in the general search!
Sorry, found some more pics of the blue Scania but ■■■■ scanner won’t play ball for some reason, have to try tomorrow hopefully, bed is calling I up at 3 in morning!

F12drive: that’s so nice! Bet it sounds awesome too! Thanks for the pics.
ADR: I had an a3 poster of that blue scania on my bedroom wall as a kid! Seem to remember the interior was done by a red hot upholsterer- can’t think of his name now! really nice truck. All the best harry.
hi all,
that blue scania was trimmed by,as i recall, doug thompson.
regards andrew[/quote
that’s the fellow! Good call! Great truck that too, all the best harry.
I’ve seen a pic of it painted yellow and red with G Mutch recovery Dundee on it. As you said it was a 142, I think it gained a 143 badge somewhere along the way.
The only Scanny I have ever driven was a 143 450 V8, and the only one I want to, and the only one that came close to outpulling my ERF up the hills, twin stacks sounded really good. The last bloke I worked for had one, I used to let him pull past just to hear it, then I’d get fed up with crawling behind him so just buggered off, mind you that ERF made a lovely old noise too! More of whhhhhoooosh as she slid majestically by the Scanny!
‘Sad old Crazyperson getting all nostalgic!’

I’ve never been a fan of ‘Scannies’ but I have owned a 143 450 and would absolutely love to know which engine your ERF was fitted with to outpull a V8 450 Scania??

Only up hill could I out pull it, and it had the 14 ltr ■■■■■■■ opened out to give around the 440 bhp mark, it may have been old but pulled like a train best motor I ever had, pity it was limited to just over 53mph! And as for the Scania, if I had to drive one, then that 143 450 would be the only one I would want to drive.

A Welsh Wagon, pulling a Spanish Fridge in Sweden! Interested to hear who it was & what work it was on! Is that Scannie ex-Geoff Gilbert? He had a few with the Esteppe Roof job.
Next time you are in Felixstowe why not pop round and we can discuss this remark of yours and others that you have levelled against me over a cup of tea!? I may be old but you won’t come out of it totally unscathed. Problem is my dog is very fussy who he lets into the house, particularly other dogs be they either of the two legged or four legged variety!

Couldn`t upload 2 pics together for some reason so here is the other.
she’ll not have stood still for long on that firm, be a Jackanory mileage reading - not being negative about your purchase, I’m sure you know what you’re doing and buying, just an observation
Oh ■■■■, and I thought it had only done 30000 genuine miles from new, one old lady owner, only been to the local shops and back once a week and to take the old dear to church on a Sunday of course. Now I know the truth I`m gutted I tell you, gutted!
