40 years old and still working hard

I think manufacturers need to look at that motor and wonder if the stuff they make now will still be working in 40 years? Not many lorries of that age are, I’ve seen a JCB of similar vintage at work and many Cat 'dozers and trackex loaders are too.
Make a nice lorry that’s simple, cheap and basic that you don’t need a B.A Hons in electronics to sort out. You could say the same for any vehicle.

aye cant see many trucks working that long nowadays.,Our fleet jumped up from 80s & a 69 twin stick up to 05-10 Macks.double reduction gearboxs to be honest not a lot wrong with the mid 80 Macks ,shorter wheelbase,no electrics,but noisy ,rattly, but reliable!!.but younger guys cant handle the 2 stick.or want to :open_mouth:
Still keeping 2 licenced for other depot as jump trucks for us aggegate haulers :smiley: (mine usualy a 98reg)redimix but boss wants me to use a paver (05) and keep the others for newbies.
