Just a warning for anyone thinking of joining EE for their “4G”, don’t, it’s rubbish (in my opinion).
I’d have bought an iphone 5 anyway so i’m not too bothered just surprised about how crap it is with all the hype and that, my advice to anyone thinking of signing a 4G contract would be to wait for Vodafone to get revenge on EE for the early launch with a much stronger signal although theirs may be crap too.
Both home & mobile internet access will suffer from exactly the same problem.
It is totally irrelevant how fast you connect with your provider, it is the speed & bandwidth which your provider connects to the internet that matters.
O2 won’t have 4G till about 2014, even vodaphone only have it in specific areas (sure it was vodaphone). I would only go for an iPhone 5 if it was upgrade time, even then I wouldn’t be interested in 4G. 3G works perfectly fine for me. My next upgrade is in 2014 so I think I’ll hang onto my 4s for now and get the iPhone 6 (or equivalent) when my contract is up. Apple bring a new one out every year I bet they have iPhone 15’s in their locker just waiting to be released. I don’t think the general public will ever have the ‘latest’ technology.

what are ya issues?
having seen the prices and the caps, i’ve got no interest in upgrading to 4g when my contract is up in about 5 weeks
My phone (iPhone 4) is up for renewal now, they are quoting me £179 for an iPhone 5…told them to shove it and I will stay on my original contract with unlimited orange to orange unlimited to landline and unlimited data and 500 mins to other mobiles and unlimited txts all for £30 per month… They are not keen for me to stay on this for some reason…

Vodafone are useless on 3G so dread to think what their 4g will be like.
I’ve got an iPhone 5 as well but am gonna leave it for at least a year before I think about going over to 4g, I’m on EE and their 3G coverage is good enough for me so will wait til other networks are on 4g so the prices might get a bit competitive
Well they’ve banged on so much about how super duper EE’s 4g is and I haven’t even seen a 4G logo on my phone, I live in Birmingham which should be live and i’ve been in central London recently as well with no 4g logo.
Now either the phone’s won’t show the 4g logo next to your bars and it is not noticeably better or I haven’t even been able to recieve 4g yet which would be an even bigger joke having mentioned the places i’ve frequented lately.
I got a free upgrade on my iphone 3 which i’d had for donkeys ages, well it was supposed to be free but I think they charged me £100, have to have them about that, mind you iphone 5’s are worth about £600
I was actually looking forward to 4g but I can be a bit gullible at times.
Its like anything new it will have its problems but wait a while thn buy one like hauliers do with new trucks.Let someone else have the problems first!I am still on the 3gs and its still working aftr being dropped out the cab mre tims than i can remember. It has had loads of use from videos and music and games so i am suprised its not packed in yet.Probably just jinxed me sen but if i have i will buy an iphone 5 just from how good this ones been
I think until 4G is as good as 3G I’ll be staying away which will be a couple of years. As for the iPhones, I think the best is the 4s, unless it’s upgrade time in which case why not get the 5? I would advise against taking out a new contract on a 5 though, get a good deal on the 4s instead.
3g to 4g is there that much of a difference really?
I remember the 56k modem lol, would take a day to download a song and about 2 weeks for a film lol
Mind that noise erhhchheeeess eehhrggghcheeeeeeessssss
My broadband is weird during the day it can take about 8 hours to download a film but at night i can download a film in like 20 minutes, must be some sort of limit during the daytime?
Might be because it’s a busy period during the day (everyone using the 'net), many people leave their computers on at night (especially if ‘seeding’ a file) so their computers tend to be left unattended. Less cyber traffic (if thats what you call it) at night, also less traffic going through the local broadband exchange so speeds will increase at night.
Just joined ee today. Not overly bothered about the 4g. I was far more interested in the unlimited calls and texts uk AND europe for £56 including 5gb of data. The galaxy note 2 is also very nice.

That is a good deal, just had a look at it online and it says the unlimited roaming minutes and texts are an extra £5 a month though which would make it £61. Still good value if your abroad all the time though and hope to be for the duration of the contract.
I really want the Note 2! Jealous…much!
If you go onto the website skids it shows the various roaming prices. Mine is £56 including roaming… They start from £41 I think. I’ve had a look around and it’s by far the cheapest for euro. I’ll save a fortune.
I’ve been using Vodafone with the euro traveller, which is great if you want to use the Internet as well but all those £3 a day charges add up.
