…at motorway service stations what’s all that about ? Had a decker running at 16’3" or almost 5.0m. needed fuel goes into Taunton Deane Northbound and lo and behold had to drop the trailer to get fuel ffs, I can understand normal filling stations having a low canopy but we’re talking motorway service stations here and there’s a lot with this limit, grrrrr.
itsb difficult at times, although some services do have a lane where you dont have to use the canopy…very annoying at most times.
Its a pain… i drag a 4.8m chipliner around… in for fuel… nope try thenext one… Noticed some at 4.8 some at 4.9 and some 5m. You would think they would gave a standard canopy height…mustnt grumble though…

Standard canopy height of 16’6 if it’s on the motorway, IMO.
What make is your chipliner, I’ve never pulled one more than 4.7, although I go on the side of caution with mine and assume 4.75.

Somebody didn’t fuel up at end of shift?
Somebody did not check level of fuel at start of shift?
Very small tank?

Correct ND we have gas trucks with small diesel tanks and when the gas decides it wants to play up (which is often) the diesel tank soon empties unfortunately. We are given fuel cards on long runs just in case.

You’d have thought if it’s a motorway service station the canopy would be 16’ 6" at least but alas it isn’t for some strange reason.
We have cartwrights.and some new tigers[FACE WITH STUCK-OUT TONGUE AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]… i go with caution and stick it at 4.8… but they are more like 4.75 too.
