See the it code of conduct and communications policy gp 001.
For detailed information see the social networking policy cp 023 .
Any one point me to/ or explain what gp 001 / cp 023 is ,ta
Cant help much here doze but just guessin these should be in the small print of a company handbook somewhere. A copy of these should be available from HR.
GP001 is probably a general company policy on communications pointing out confidentiality and sensitivity clauses and how company operating matters and confidential info employees may come into contact with should not be discussed outside the company. Theres a plethora of other stuff that could be included.
CP023 is probably a more descriptive clause relating to the internet social media sites and forums like, facebook, twunter, Grinder, Chat Roulette, SwingersUK, Trucknet, TribbersUK, Fisters&Felchers… etc to name but a few.
Anonymous posting of company info is a given in this day and age all these clauses try and do is restrict speculation, rumour mongering and defacation of the company reminding the employee if caught they could be sacked and or sued.
Thanks Dave , I’ll get hold of hr and see if they can provide a copy or explain what this letter is on about
at they are saying is stop slating stbrats on here or you will be sacked.
Are stobarts putting Dozy on pre mod. The man who looks like a scarecrow in a suit is putting his internet foot down.
You might be looking for a job soon.

I don’t know the specifics, but I’ll bet it’s fairly standard stuff. Most large companies have social media policies. Basically, dont slag off the company, management or colleagues on ■■■■■■■■ facebook etc. Don’t discuss details of your work, especially if carrying high value cargo, or upcoming jobs. Dont discuss details of contracts/wages.
I know many people who’ve lost jobs over ill thought out Facebook rants.
Facebook shouldn’t be a problem, just set your privacy settings up right and don’t be friends with any management or backstabbers.
A public forum though, like for instance TruckNet. Who’d be daft enough to slag off their employer on there? That would be silly, eh Dozy.
Looks like someone saw something dozy posted and its got back to the management.
Might just be the push you need to go find something that’s not going to send you to the funny farm dozy. That job isn’t any good for your mental wellbeing mate. Time to move onto the fridges like you said you were wanting to.
So he’s real after all

At my last teaching post, someone found themselves in front of the education manager on a bullying charge for NOT adding someone on facebook! (It wasn’t me, I was there to represent them!)
Almost all major companies have social media policies nowadays. I nearly got caught out myself by my last company on this very website about something i said. They could identify my depot but not me.
This is why you shouldn’t use specifics that could pinpoint who you are. I don’t think Rikki would give out details to private compaines looking to see who is actually behind a username.
Dozy reveals a lot on here, it wouldn’t take a brain surgeon to work out who he was, so he should watch what he says I guess.

Given what is sometimes talked about on there, I’m surprised VOSA don’t have a nosy at times.

You think they dont? There is at least one womble that I know of, who openly identifies himself as such. There are no doubt more, and probably office wombles too…
