Well Friday last week i got my 3RD CE Job was Phoned at 10.15am by an Agent and asked if i was avainlable there and then said yes but where is it 
Preston and take night out bag your goin to do a trunk job to Swindon ok so off to the depot when i got there was given the Keys to a Scania and told go to the bottom of the yard and you nead a tri axle Bulk tipper trailer 
what sorry i have never driven one of them only box and fridge no expeariance Its ok you wont have to tip it So off down the yard checked two out both had bad tyres (chunks missing ) found a good one and hooked up did my checks back up to office told him about other two having bad tyres was told its ok they are all like that its when they go on the wash 
at this point i thought i would be given paperwork , address ,post code ect … but No was given a small map with a few minor and A roads on it and a couple of feilds and told its in Bridgenorth the full trailers are in that feild there drop the empty pick a full one and come back easy … off ya go
after 3.1/2 hrs found the feild dropped the empty easy 
checked the two full ones picked the best out of the two then tried to couple up droped unit as was tought by my trainer BUT the full trailer had sunk into the ground so had hell of a job took my break then another driver turned up and said yep thats normal …and he had been told that they wanted the carrots back to the wash by 6pm it was 5 pm then 
so he said fri night on M6 will be hell follow me so out of gate and off back untill he turned down a 7.5 ton limit with about 40 ton ( not for me that ) so i followed my sat nav … had a clear run up M6 and back for 8 30pm
5 minutes behind their other driver who took the short cut Through a wheight limit

That was the most scary job I have done as of yet spent a full 9 hr shift just worrying But all in all I did the Job and had a very Fast learning curve … The Agent phoned me yesterday and asked how it went and would I do it Again … and I said yes But I want to get a little more experiance with box , fridge , ect first he did not know that they had put me on a bulk trailer and swapped the jobs .
He said that my first day on that Job was just Unlucky but it will get better … ( Oh I Bet it Will)!
Yesterday I got a call from another agent Who I have been with since April giving me my tuesday job on a 7.5 tonner local Blackpool firm who i have done fwork for many times now easy day lol then less than 1 hrs later same Agent phoned me back and asked was i available for a night shift last night i said yea but what about the 7.5 ton job tomorrow Oh we will cover that this is a Class 1 night trunk fridge job for spar to their Willenhall depot You have done it before They asked for you Yippee so 4th Ce jobs in two weeks .
Once again an interesting post for all us newbies. Keep them coming, we are learning from your problems .

Good man. Get stuck in and it all goes down to experience. 7 years yesterday since I passed my Class 1 when I was 26 and all drivers have stories like that.
It’s hard and stressful doing it at the time but looking back it makes a good story and you know when push comes to shove, you can do it.

Well I called The Agent this mornin to let him know my availability and it looks like im in Spar all week on nights same Class 1 trunk from preston to willenhall nr Brum 4pm start and im home before 2 am so am a happy chappy for now anyway … although I thought Tonight was gonna be a bummer M6 closed j29-j28 southbound and all roads south Busting at the seems with traffic but like a Dream it opened just before I loaded and set off at 6pm .
Also I have been asked to put a drivers wanted advert on here For an Agenct in Morcambe so i will put it on The Vacancies page it may just help some of you in the north west …
love reading bout your experiences , theres always somat , yesterday im driving 26 tonner heading for pick up and go down a road that has a weight limit on it for bridge , i know this area and know i can do a left before bridge to get me to collection point 100 bloody yds from left turn a temp sign put up only cycles and pedestrians can turn left roadworks with lights at crossrds nowhere to go turn into right turn and stop saw police car and said can you see me back out into cross section as cant get over bridge and cant go left so policeman stops all traffic for me and reverse out , onway back an artic had same idea as me so stop and tell him what situation was god knows how he turned around but as said all learning curves if policeman hadnt helped I could still be there now lol

Hi Jen LoL Sounds About Right eh … oh I would have had to change mi pants lol YEP These places are sent to try us arnt they I was sweating yesterday as i googled M6 before setting off to work for traffic and an accident had closed southbound from J29 to J28 and when im loaded at preston I go on at J31 SOUTH uhhhh
they said it would be clear by 14.45 great i thought as i dont start loading till 16.00 pm and normaly all week have got out of Depot before 19,30pm then listening to radio at 17 .00 while loading it was still shut and all routes south were clogged with traffic OMG managed to get loaded and out on route to Brum for 18.00pm andand at 17.45 it was opened again just in time for me to sail through and from the M6 I could see all the A roads crammed full of cars who had come off the M6 thinking it was still shut …LOL the TM said i would go down the A59 to Liverpool and jump on the M62 then back on the M6 SOOOOO Glad i didnt ha …
